A Natural Wine Supper
Natural wine has been around for years but has just recently become a common dinner conversation for the wine and sustainability enthusiasts among us. So what is natural wine other than the new "it" topic of 2018? We partnered with Frankie owners Rebecca and Rowen to find out.
The tablescape for this meal was expertly designed by Valerie Braverman of Brave Floral incorporating poppy pastels, exotic florals and Japanese ikebana that accentuated the already beautifully decorated space. Menus, Wine List and Partner Card were designed by Frankie co-owner and designer extraordinaire, Rebecca Johnson.
The evening began with an Activated Charcoal, Gin, Rosemary, Lemon and CBD oil cocktail made with Corgi Pembroke Gin, Jersey City’s first and only distillery and Rosebud, a company started by cannabis professional and all-around hip lady boss, Alexis Rosenbaum.
Transitioning to the table, Rowen introduced guests to a selection of natural wines by Croci, Bloomer Creek and Ochota Barrels and they were given the opportunity to sip, taste and ask questions throughout the evening.
The menu for this dinner was inspired by fresh ingredients, simple preparation and co-owner Rowen's Australian roots. Courses included Honeynut Squash with cashew puree and wild caught Prawn with Nam Jim served family style on tableware from the elegant and versatile Coupe Collection designed by Union City-based ceramicist and Frankie regular, Jono Pandolfi.
Guests left with a gift bag including an original print inspired by the meal and a custom made tropical soy candle by Soap for Sinners.
